More than 120 schools of St.Petersburg and Leningrad oblast participate in various educational projects of Friends of the Baltic. At the Round table FoB specialists presented SPARE program, including new educational materials, competition “Energy and environment”, Energy Saving Day 11 of November, trainings for teachers on education and practical energy saving actions and the competition. Within the River Watch program the annual youth conference on eco-monitoring of rivers and the Gulf of Finland will take place in Lomonosov on the 22th of October. The same day FoB invites teaches and scientists to the Round table on the environmental situation in the Gulf of Finland and methods of public watch of environment. In May a new river will invite River Watch teams from different schools to the traditional 7th annual River Festival, organized by Friends of the Baltic. Three rivers and three educational organizations wish to host the Festival: Kamenka river (House of children creativity of Primorsk district), Strelka river (Nizino school) and Lebjazhya river (Lebjazhye school).
At this Round table Friends of the Baltic partners shared information about their plans and projects. Representatives of Ecology-biology center “Krestovskij Ostrov”, Ecocenter Biotop, NGO ”Nature school-Ostrov”, St.Petersburg State University, St.Petersburg ZOO, Oceanarium announced their events addressed to schoolchildren for the coming school years. |
